Biography:
Alexey Gorshkov is an adjunct professor of physics with an adjunct appointment in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. He is also a physicist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Gorshkov’s research focuses on the interface of quantum optics, atomic and molecular physics, condensed matter physics, and quantum information science. His work aims to understand and control large interacting quantum systems and to design and create new ones.
