The Washington Post featured an article about Ashok Agrawala's work with the UMD Department of Public Safety on M-escort, a mobile phone app that would link public safety personnel to real-time video and audio from a student’s phone.

The article states that "By the time fall classes begin, students should be able to use their phones at any time to get an instant, virtual escort, instead of waiting 10 to 15 minutes for the in-person escort that university police and student aides already offer."
